Kinsey Allen International places huge importance on its research function, with each practice area supported by dedicated, specialist researchers. These researchers are dedicated to market mapping, sourcing, profiling and assessing the best possible potential candidates using the widest range of sources to constantly update our extensive, bespoke database.
In addition, our researchers provide supplementary services such as salary surveys, competitor mapping and team due diligence. They speak a number of languages, enabling us to search for talent globally.
Each researcher follows a house style to identify and assess talent. After attending an initial client briefing, the team will meet to strategise as to how best the search should be conducted. The team agree on a list of target institutions across chosen geographies, which the researchers will then use to identify the relevant individuals within the target teams therein. Each potential target on the list will be spoken to individually and profiled to determine their career history, achievements, motivations and aspirations.
Long lists and short lists
The next step in our process is to determine each relevant individual’s suitability for the role. Our researchers speak to confidential market sources, former co-workers and market peers, as informal referees. A ‘long list’ is then drawn up and delivered within four weeks to the client. Simultaneously, a shorter list of candidates will be complied to show the most relevant potential candidates for the role, according to the set criteria, as well as obvious synergies relating to personality/team fit.
After going through these lists with the client, and determining who to approach, Consultants and Researchers meet with each candidate who has expressed initial interest in the role. After each meeting, a comprehensive profile detailing compensation, career aspirations, and personality fit is written up and sent to the client, along with a full CV of the candidates’ career history. Each candidate is benchmarked against their market peers before client interviews take place.
